Dremel Blending of Colored Pencils

I don't know why I did not think of this before.

I have a Dremel tool that takes 1/8" diameter shafts on tools.

The shaft on a cotton Q-Tip is also 1/8" so I cut one in half and chucked it in the Dremel.

On slow speed it is perfect to blend PrismaColor pencils when I have applied two or more pencil colors to an area that I want to smooth and blend.

Change often so no left over color messes up the next blend.

STRETCHING WATERCOLOR PAPER

Use a piece of Masonite about an inch wider on all sides than your watercolor paper. Soak the paper in water till thoroughly wet. Place paper on Masonite.. Hold in place with screen molding or lattice strips and Bulldog clips all along the edges about 1/2 inch. No tape. No Staples. Clean border.

Taking Photos of Paintings

Tape a make-up mirror in the center of the painting. Line up the camera so you can see the lens of the camera. This will insure that your camera and painting are on the same plane and avoid keystoning or warped images.
