Registration of Gelli Prints

I made wooden forms for my 6" x 6" and 8" x 10" Gelli Pads so I could register the paper for additional layers of printing.

1. Cut a piece of Masonite 12 inches square.
2. Cut out a 6" x 6" square as shown.
3. Glue and clamp.
4. In like manner, cut out one like this for 8" x 10" and glue it to a 12" x 12" Masonite, glue and clamp.
5. Cut a piece of wood lath and glue and clamp it to the top as shown. Gelli Pad is in place.
6. Cut lath to go on each side of the Gelli Pads. I used another piece of lath at the top for registering. I plan to use 1/4 inch dowels at the top of the other for registration of printing paper with corresponding holes.
Metal registration pins could also be used here.
7.  I spray painted both forms with silver enamel paint and waxed the surface. This makes it easier to clean acrylic paint off the forms.
8. Punch printing paper with holes to fit the registration pins.
9. Ink the Gelli Pad and do ypour thing.
10. Pull the print, clean the pad and repeat as many times as needed.
